2A14 aluminum alloy is a kind of hard aluminum alloy with good machinability, electrical resistivity, spot welding and seam welding performance.

2A14 Features And Uses

According to the composition and performance of 2A14, it can belong to hard aluminum alloy or 2A50 forged alloy. The difference between 2A14 and 2A50 is that it contains higher copper content, so it has higher strength and better thermal strength, but it has better heat resistance under hot conditions. Plasticity is not as good as 2A50. The alloy has good machinability, electrical resistivity, good spot and seam welding performance, and poor arc and gas welding performance; it can be strengthened by heat treatment and has an extrusion effect; therefore, the longitudinal and lateral properties are different; Corrosion is not high, but the tendency of intergranular corrosion and stress corrosion cracking in artificial aging state.

2A14 Heat Treatment Specification

Homogenization annealing: heating at 475~490℃; holding time for 12~14h; furnace cooling.

Complete annealing: heating 350~400℃; depending on the effective thickness of the material, the holding time is 30~120min; cooling with the furnace to 300℃ at a rate of 30~50℃/h, and then air cooling.

Rapid annealing: heating 350~460℃; holding time 30~120min; air cooling.

Quenching and aging: quenching 495~505℃; natural aging room temperature 96h
